| In the beginning, I just want to bring
light to the ancient knowledge of the Tao Te Ching with my
experience, knowledge and understanding of Vedic Science -
the science of consciousness. |
| I started by doing a word by word
translation of the Tao Te Ching but I found myself end up
in doing collation. As I went further to compare the
different editions, the more I found how the Tao Te Ching
had been misinterpreted by scholars of the past.
The reason is simple: they are lacking the kind of purity and
simplicity that Lao Tzu is having and they tend to
interpret what Lao Tzu meant with their complicated
mind. |
|
There are 3 things that
are most difficult to understand in the Tao Te Ching. They
are: |
| |
  |
|
i) Description of transcendental
experience, e.g. description of experience of Hsuan
( ) [or
Xuan], the collapse. So far, it seems to me
that among Chinese scholars of the past, only Yang Xiong
( ) (53
B.C. - 18 A.D.) who wrote the Tai Xuan Jing ( ) and
describe the process of Hsuan in great detail can really
understand this part of the Tao Te
Ching. |
ii) The governing of the sage which is what
later Chinese scholars in Han and Sung dynasty had
described as "Heaven-Man Union" ( ). |
| iii) Way in accord with Tao
or life in accord with Natural Law. |
| So, with this new translation, I hope these
points could be clarified and to shed some light on the real meaning
of this great ancient classic of Tao. |
