16.1.1 Effect to blank (the mind) perseveringly.
Keep to the middle absorbedly.
16.1.2 (When) all things just rise,
reside to await (their) returning.
16.1.3 (Since) the way of heaven (goes) round (and) round,
(therefore all things will) each returns back to its root.
16.2.1 Back to its root is to say (back to) silence.
This is called returning to life.
16.2.2 Returning to life is said to be the ordinary (way).
16.2.3 Knowing the ordinary (way) is said to be (having an) enlightened (sense).
16.3.1 Not knowing the ordinary (way),
(then one) arbitrarily acts ominously.
16.3.2 Knowing the ordinary (way then one is) tolerating.
(To be) tolerating then (one can be) just.
(To be) just then (one can be) king.
(To be) king is (to be equal to) heaven.
(To be equal to) heaven is (to be one with) Tao.
(To be one with) Tao is (to be) long lasting.
16.3.3 (Then even) without (the stability of your) body, (you will) not be endangered.
