(for) people who pursue Tao: |

People of Tao identify (their way of living)
with Tao. |
| 23.2.2 |
People of virtue identify (their
behavior) with virtue. |
| 23.2.3 |
People of loss identify (their deeds) with loss
and not erring. |
| 23.3.1 |
(For) people who identify (their way of living)
with Tao, Tao is also happy to gain them. |
| 23.3.2 |
(For) people who identify (their behavior) with
virtue, Tao also (guides) them (in) gaining (of
Tao). |
| 23.3.3 |
(For) people who identify (their deeds) with
loss and not erring, Tao also (guides) them (in) losing and not
erring. |
