27.1.1 A good traveler (will) not (leave) tracks (to show where he) goes.
A good speechmaker (has) no flaw (in his speech).
A good counter does not use chips (or) tallies.
27.1.2 Door well-shut (even) without latch, yet can not be open.
Ropes well fastened (even) without knots yet can not be untied.
27.2.1 This is why the sage is always good at saving people,
and (he does) not abandon people.
27.2.2 (He is) always good at saving things,
(and) so (he does) not abandon things.
27.2.3 This is called following the pattern of the enlightened.
27.3.1 So the good people is good as (other) people's teacher.
(And) the not good people like (other) people's endowment.
27.3.2 Not valuing (to be) their teacher,
(and) not loving their endowments.
Even the wise is deeply lost.
27.3.3 This is called the wonderful essential (principle).
