This is why (they) are capable of being kings of
the many valley streams. |

For the sage to lead (his) people, (he) must
be behind them in body. |

be above (his) people, (he) must speak (of himself) to be below
them. |

He
is on top of (his) people but (his) people do not think highly (of
him). |

He
leads (his) people but (his) people (feel) no harm. |

This is why all the world is happy to push (him
to the lead) and not fed up (with him). |

As
he (is) not striving, so no one in the world can strive with
him. |
