75.1 The starving of the people,
is because the feudal taxes (from) their superiors are too much.
This is why (they) starve.
75.2 The people are difficult to govern,
is because their superiors are not letting go (in their deeds).
This is why (they are) difficult to govern.
75.3 The people take death lightly,
is because they seek richness in life.
This is why (they) take death lightly.
75.4 Oh! Only those who have nothing to live on,
are capable of valuing life.
