Mjallby out of Old Firm Clash

CELTIC defender Johan Mjallby has admitted defeat in his battle to be fit for Saturday's Old Firm derby against Rangers.

Mjallby has not played for The Bhoys since the end of August and has undergone knee surgery.

The Swedish defender had pencilled in the weekend tussle with Rangers for his comeback.

But the experienced stopper has been forced to shelve his plans and admits it will be nearer the end of the month when he is ready to return.

"Even if the knee feels good and I don't get any pains, it will probably take two or three weeks before I am back," Mjallby told Sportbladet. 1
