Dad-to-be Edman opts out of Swede squad
Sweden defender Erik Edman will not take part in Wednesday's qualifier against Hungary in Budapest because he is about to become a father, Swedish public television SVT reported on Monday.
Edman is Sweden's first-choice left wing back and he played in Saturday's 3-0 home win over Bulgaria.
Sweden are second in European zone Group Eight, one point behind leaders Croatia with three games to go.
Edman joined Stade Rennes last month from English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.
