Marcus: I'll Claim 'Half A Goal'

Marcus Allback produced an all-action return to Premiership action on Saturday and admitted: :I tried to take out the frustrations of the season on Arsenal.;

The Swedish international ace, who scored two goals to sing Hungary last Wednesday, capped a memorable week with an impressive substitute appearance against The Gunners.

And, though Allback・s was not the decisive touch, his pressure was clearly a big factor as Kolo Toure sliced through his own goal for Villa・s deserved equaliser.

He said: :It was a good week. Two goals for Sweden and .half a goal・ against Arsenal on Saturday. It felt good and I・m just happy to be playing football again.

:It was nice to have 90 minutes with Sweden on Wednesday and I was definitely up for it. I・ve been wanting to play football for a long time and I think you saw that a little bit on Saturday.

:I haven・t played for a long time, so I・ve just been training hard and waiting for a chance. Now I・m looking forward to a nice month and a half to finish the season off.;

Allback continued: :It worked well between myself and Darius. We talked a lot and we tried to stay close. You could probably see that I really wanted to play. I don・t know how many free-kicks I had given against me, too many I suppose. But it felt good and I felt we did well.

:Too bad the first goal went in. If we・d had the concentration on a maximum level, that wouldn・t have happened. But they are a good side and we were quite happy with a point.

:I think we have a really good squad and we・ve been a long way from getting the maximum out of each player this season. Not everyone played maximum on Saturday, but we did good.

:Against Manchester United recently, most of the players produced their maximum. That・s what we need to have every week.;

Having recently seen both main title contenders at first-hand, Allback concluded: :It・s difficult to say who will win. United won 4-0 on Saturday and it・s going to be close. But I still think Arsenal are going to win it.; 1
