Ollie Back For Fulham Test

Olof Mellberg will return to the Villa squad tomorrow, despite midweek claims that he was set for surgery to overcome a niggling Achilles injury.

The Swedish international ace sat out Wednesday・s Worthington Cup win at Oxford as a precautionary measure, but will be back in the frame to face Fulham.

Mellberg has been hugely impressive at the heart of Villa・s defence this season and has been ever-present in the Premiership.

His return to the squad spells good news for Graham Taylor, who said ：There・s no problem. Ollie will be fit. He・s had a bit of trouble with a sore Achilles tendon. That was sore when he came back from Sweden.

：If we look at the last 12 months, he・s played a lot of football and it wasn・t possible for him to rest in the close-season.

：But he・s handled it quite well and Wednesday night was the game for him to miss out on and he・s OK to play tomorrow.；
