Freddie: 'We need killer-touch'

Freddie Ljungberg can't explain why Arsenal have had trouble taking their chances in recent games.

On Tuesday night, the Gunners had host of opportunities in the first half against 10-man Roma. They only took one and the Italians equalised on the break just before the interval. Roma held on until the final whistle to leave Arsenal's qualification for the quarter-finals on a knife-edge.

"Of course we sometimes have a problem killing teams off, there is no question about it," said the Swedish midfielder after the game.

"Sometimes we have a lot of chances, then the opponents get a freak goal and we have a problem. We have had that in the past but hopefully we can develop that and do a little better."

However, Ljungberg denies Arsenal's problem is over-elaboration or the desire to score the "perfect" goal.

"We have a special way of playing," he said. "We like to go out and create chances. The goals can be beautiful but we don't really care how we score. If we have a chance, we try to score but, against Roma, we did not get it in and we suffered for it. I can't give you an answer why." 1
