Nilsson keen on Premiership move

Sweden international Mikael Nilsson has stated he would welcome a move to The Premiership and particularly South Coast side Southampton. The Saints already have a strong Swedish base with the likes of Anders Svensson and Michael Svensson demonstrating their talents at The St Mary's Stadium.

Nilsson, who is out of contract at Halmstads, is being tracked by a number of clubs, with Southampton one side in the frame for the midfielder.
"I hope to move to the Premier League and Southampton is a very good option for me," explained Nilsson.
"I know that they are interested and I hope a solution can be worked out."

The 25-year-old is currently away on international duty with Sweden in Euro 2004 and played the full 90 minutes in their 5-0 thrashing of Bulgaria on Monday.
