Linderoth's Frusration
Tobias Linderoth has spoken exclusively to evertonfc.tv about his latest injury frustration, and he¡¦s not writing this season off just yet.
The Swedish international has suffered hamstring damage to both his legs during this campaign, but he¡¦s fiercely determined to force his way into David Moyes¡¦ plans during the course of the remaining eight Premiership fixtures.
Linderoth originally pulled his right hamstring during Everton¡¦s memorable Worthington Cup tie at Newcastle in November and he hasn¡¦t figured in the first team since then. He did, however, put three reserve run-outs under his belt before pulling up again against West Brom at the Halton Stadium last week¡Kafter pulling his left hamstring.
¡§To come back only to get another injury is very frustrating,¡¨ he told the club¡¦s website. ¡§I just have to concentrate and work hard to get fit again and hopefully I¡¦ll be able to get a few games under my belt before the end of the season.¡¨
As regards any length of absence, Tobias, understandably, is being cautious.
¡§I don¡¦t know really how long it will be,¡¨ he said.
¡§I actually thought the last injury I sustained wasn¡¦t too bad, although it took a couple of weeks for me to return to fitness. So, I have to take one day at a time and wait and see.¡¨
Linderoth is missing out on international appearances as well as Premiership fixtures and he admits that he most recent problem was particularly frustrating
¡§It was my first chance in the team and I was really enjoying my football, but I got injured and I¡¦m determined to get back again,¡¨ he said.
¡§I felt fine until the middle of the second half when I was reaching for the ball and I pulled something in my left leg. I had almost three reserve games under my belt and I felt that was coping with 90 minutes of football.¡¨
