Freddie set for central role
Sweden are looking for Freddie Ljungberg to become a central figure for the team in the build-up to the 2006 World Cup.
Ljungberg was part of the Sweden team which reached the quarter finals of Euro 2004 and is now being looked to as the key performer for his nation.
With Henrik Larsson back in international retirement, the mantle has been passed to the Arsenal midfielder to carry the team's hopes.
The attack-minded Ljungberg will be handed a central midfield role for Sweden's friendly against their European Championship conquerors Holland on Wednesday.
Sweden coach Lars Lagerback feels the 27-year-old has a lot to offer by playing in a different position for his country, than his club.
"Fredrik is very good wherever he plays," Lagerback told Sportbladet.
"He is good in the build-up phase and, from a central position, he can take part more."
