Mjallby Protests Innocence

CELTIC'S Swedish defender Johan Mjallby has protested his innocence after being arrested following the club's Christmas party.

Mjallby, along with Joos Valgaeren and Bobby Petta, were arrested on Tuesday evening for reportedly damaging a press photographer's 12,000 camera.

The trio have now all been bailed, however Mjallby believes that he should not have been arrested in the first place as parties are all about people enjoying themselves.

"I am innocent," stated Mjallby to the Expressen. "I was partying, that is what you are doing at a Christmas party.

"I am no criminal. I do not understand why I had to stay in custody for 18 hours.

"We wanted interpreter assistance to avoid any misinterpretation. It was a taped interrogation and therefore all the terms in English were not easy." 1
