Leeds Hoping to Keep Hold of Teddy

AIK SOLNA have indicated that Premiership outfit Leeds United are hoping to make Swedish international Teddy Lucic's move to Elland Road permanent.

The defender was a transfer deadline-day signing by manager Terry Venables, and has been a regular feature of late due to injuries to Jonathan Woodgate and Lucas Radebe.

Lucic is currently on a season-long loan deal from The Swedish club, however The Whites are believed to be preparing a bid in order to keep the star.

"Leeds have said that they want to keep Teddy and now we are having negotiations with the Englishmen," said AIK director Stefan Soderberg to Expressen. "I believe it will be settled any day now."

The 29-year-old himself is happy to be plying his trade in The Premiership and is keen to extend his spell in England.

"It has worked fine in Leeds and I have broken into the side well. I am enjoying myself," said Lucic.

"The pace is tremendously high in the matches, and after 75 minutes my legs sometimes feel really heavy.

"It's clearly a higher pace in an average league match than in a derby back in Sweden." 1
