Anders A Doubt

Anders Svensson came on as substitute only for the last three minutes at Chelsea - but it was enough to make him doubtful for tomorrow's sell-out home clash with Sunderland. The Swede came off the bench in the first of four minutes of stoppage time in the 0-0 draw but got a kick on a foot. He is having treatment today on the bruise but with little time to recover, he is struggling to make the final game of the year.

Manager Gordon Strachan said: "We have one or two bumps and bruises but we can't change things too much for tomorrow.

"With Marian Pahars, Jason Dodd and Agustin Delgado all out injured we can only make a maximum of one or two changes. We just have to patch them up and get on with it.

"We will be taking it quite easy today. The pitch at Stamford Bridge was extremely heavy and took a lot out of the team.

"The lads had to work extremely hard against a very good side. They closed down from the front and covered a lot of ground in midfield against quality players.

"The quick turn-around does not give us a lot of time to get people fit and to rest but we have strong bunch and we will be OK." 1
