No Crisis Here Says Teddy

LEEDS UNITED's Swedish defender Teddy Lucic is surprised to hear people talk of a crisis at Elland Road, insisting there's still plenty of time for Leeds to do well this season.

Lucic, on loan from AIK Solna, will be expected to return to the side to face Charlton on Sunday after being ineligible for Leeds UEFA Cup tie against Malaga, having played in SOlna's unsuccessful Champions League qualifying games.

Lucic has started the last six Premiership games, and despite the results insists he hasn't yet seen anything that should give people inside the club cause to panic.

"Crisis? I don't know if we can really call it a crisis," said Teddy.

"I've seen tougher times when I played for AIK Solna, we struggled at the beginning of the first season but we played really good at the end and picked up some good points.

"I think If we all work together and keep giving 100 per cent it will come good for us.

Teddy has made a difference to the side since getting over an early injury, and the signs are looking better for United defensively as he beds in, but with just one league win in the last nine games isn't happy with the way things have gone personally.

"It's up for everybody else to decide if I have done well, but with the results we've had you can't be happy with performances.

"The guys have been taking care of me and trying to help me settle in the team as quickly as possible and they've helped me a lot.

"It's not such a big difference to play alongside someone else every game because everyone here is a professional and they're all experienced. So they're giving 100 per cent and trying to do the best we can."

Teddy will be at Elland Road until the 30th June, when a decision has to be made whether to take up the option to sign him permanently or not, so there's no rush for either Leeds or the Swede to enter into a long term contract.

"I want to take it one week at a time because June is a long way away, but Leeds is a big club and I think I would like to stay, but we have to see about that later." 1
