Arnesson questions strikers

Former Sweden coach Lars Arnesson has questioned the performances of strike partners Henrik Larsson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the World Cup.

Neither player netted in Sweden's four games in Germany, with the team scoring just three times overall.

Much was expected from Larsson and Ibrahimovic, but neither delivered as Sweden crashed out against hosts Germany in the second round.

Arnesson was shocked by the overall performance from Lars Lagerback's men and has called for an investigation into the poor display.

"Some have been underperforming, for example, I think about Henrik and Zlatan," he told Expressen.

"I didn't think it would go like it did. It was a huge shock."

Swedish media continue to call for the sacking of Lagerback and have already begun speculating about a suitable replacement. 1
