Welcome to my Web site!Dannis Au, MEdAdmin, is entering his tenth year in education. Dannis is serving as the Principal at Yew Chung Arts & Language Centre (YALC) of the Yew Chung Education Foundation in Hong Kong. Under his direction YALC was awarded a number of grants to experiment with an alternative to the traditional educational model, he took the inspiration from the interaction with many arts-infused preschool educators from NAEYC, the United States. Prior to YALC, Dannis taught and administrated a Christian-based Primary School for the new immigrants from Mainland China. To insure success for every child, he facilitated the development of a setting providing total integration of music/arts/language education for the children to liberate the joy of learning. Dannis' goal and accomplishment at that school was to help the children develop self-expression and raise self-esteem through the process of creative learning.
Dannis received his BA
in Marketing from the Hong Kong
Polytechnic University. He further studied at the University of Hong Kong
and the China Graduate School of Theology. He
holds a Master Degree in
Educational Administration.
The current position is providing Dannis
with an extensive administration
experience in school management including, Hong Kong,
Shanghai, Beijing, and Silicon Valley, the United States. He is currently
pursuing his Doctor Degree in Education from the University of Leicester. (Recommendation
Letters from Dr. Chan Po King, Betty and Dr. Gary Morrison) The Yew Chung Arts & Language Centre (YALC) has continued to grow from strength to strength. As a Principal, Dannis is providing practical experience in the program development with his colleagues. He appreciates the opportunity to assist children by facilitating the development of effective and inspiring educational leaders. Dannis is recently granted a fund as his research proposal was approved unanimously by a Research Fund Committee, chaired by Dr. Gary Morrison who is a published writer and won an Editor's Choice Award and a Third Place Distinction from the National Library of Poetry. Dannis' current research focuses on human resources management under a multicultural school environment. He is also working for the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Northumbria University as visiting lecturer and external marker respectively. In addition to the commitment in education, Dannis is very fond of classical music. Most of the top musicians in Hong Kong are the personal friends of him, e.g. Warren Lee, Pianist. He devotes much of his time organizing concerts and music productions to promote classical music to the younger generation in Hong Kong.
