「The Last of Millennium千年帝國之興亡」為世嘉正式脫離System Soft的「大戰略」作品，由旗下Pineapple小組開發，故冠以「advanced」之名。與傳統大戰略最大分別在於戰鬥地圖劃分為陸空兩個層面，配合火炮可是貨真價實的三度空間立體戰鬥。機場亦可停泊多機，空戰部隊既廣闊又實際的戰鬥視野和能力，被2D系統安排得非常合理。又引入「FPW(Force Power)」綜合戰鬥力，一次過取代補給、彈藥量和部隊機數，當FPW數值低下之時其「ZOC(Zone Of Control)」據守的能力便告失去，重現閃電戰在於速度與突破敵人的精神。隨著經驗累積，玩者戰技也會增加，更綜合經驗與訓練度於一身，正是創新將軍系統精彩的地方。當然對於德軍死忠派來說，軍官直屬部隊，既能體現「意國無能部隊」，又與德國三大閃擊名將並肩作戰，絕對是數字之外的另一番樂趣！
遊戲以戰役的戰略或戰術勝利執行程度，作為次回合戰略方針的基礎，結局共計七個，其中甚至有一個描述希特勒尋找聖杯欲借神力扭轉乾坤的一幕，名曰「難局！」！…好一個傳說！

SS ‘AWW The Last of Millennium’ could be a milestone remarks the first SLG Sega displayed in Pineapple's style, which officially take off from the horizon of ‘Daisenryaku’ presented by ‘System Soft’. When compare with traditional ‘Daisenryaku’, The Last of Millennium performs true 3D strategy. Two-layer-map layout allocates air force, army and cannon in a reasonable fighting environment with highly fulfill simulation of real war. The introductions of FPW(Force Power) and ZOC(Zone Of Control), summarize skill, exp, training of traditional SLG. ZOC becomes zero when FPW went away. Those elements reproduce the blitzkrieg sprit which emphasize the speed and break-through. The newly General LV system enables player to fight with the ‘inability Italian Army’ as well as to go to the front together with the 3 blitzkrieg generals, what a fun beyond numbers！
The Last of Millennium decides the flow of ‘war’ by victory LV, therefore the next strategic plan. Results in totally 7 endings. Including one describe about the search of ‘Holy Grail’, namely ‘The difficult situation’. According to side story, Hitler intended looking for miracle to save his war…what a legend…

千年帝國的武器進化系統詳細認真，載有不少特殊兵器。可是在下百玩不得其解，Hetzer(ヘッツァー)與Ju88G一眾夜間戰鬥機，彷彿兵器圖鑑上的幽靈，又像進化上的缺環，可望而不可得。Hetzer似乎僅出現在友軍之列，玩者卻無法藉由38(t)進化或VP交易得到，亦不在元首特賜「褒美兵器」之列。夜間戰鬥機方面情況相近，偏偏空將擁有夜間戰鬥機能力，莫非遊戲設計者的疏忽？抑或依靠Hetzer與Ju88G等只能通往戰敗之路單程票呢？
原來答案是MarderⅢ jagdpanzer，真的掛念他!
The detailed weapon modification system in The Last of Millennium came up with various secret special. However, as far as I know, Hetzer and Ju88G(and Nachtjagders) are not available for player, no matter through chassis modification, VP exchange or bonus weapon. The same story goes on Ju88G, without considering the ‘Nacht-jagder skill’ in general system. Is this a missing ring in weapon evolution system？ Or, it turn out to be a one-way-ticket to game over when player rely on them？
Well, well, well, here comes the answer, Hetzer developed from MarderⅢ jagdpanzer, i have missed him so much!
歷史如果說蘇聯武器設計方案著眼攻擊力、防禦力及機動力的完美平衡。德國人則追求強大的火力、防護力。此舉導致德國1941年以後吃盡苦頭，當中不無一些先天因素，例如汽油引擎之重量馬力比的限制，德國的生產力資源等限制。結果面對當世三大強國猛攻，紅軍的鋼鐵浪潮，德軍戰車的損耗非常巨大，最終導致代替品…驅逐戰車的誕生。德國人把製作過剩的大口徑火砲裝配戰損回收或多出的戰車底盤。戰局之迫切甚至使得古德林無可奈何地認同驅逐戰車。德國戰車角色由舊世代引擎騎兵，到閃電戰之裝甲矛頭，後來被紅軍量產壓倒，德國戰車最後淪為反戰車武器。
隨著戰事惡化，驅逐戰車的存在由臨時措施變成德國戰略的基本公式，如下，每一款底盤去掉旋轉砲塔，加上焊接的戰鬥室，便可換裝更大口徑的火砲，省下工時同時符合強大的火力防護力的大德意志傳統。例如豹式底盤裝備88mm PAK43/3炮便是獵豹(Jagdpanther)。驅逐戰車特別適合防禦戰與遠距離砲戰，切合德國當時的戰況。
Hetzer(德語煽動者)便是基於上述戰略思想，由加闊的捷克38(t)底盤配備75mm Pak 39 L/48發展得來。試想想38(t)本來只武裝37mm KwK L/47.8而已，即使犧牲一定戰術靈活性，但換來延長底盤生產線的壽命，對於江河日下的德國著實已經非常奢侈了。Hetzer非常迷你，車身底矮，經過蘇俄T-34教訓，使用傾斜裝甲佈置增加了裝甲的物理厚度。作為驅逐戰車是很稱職的。只恨有點生不逢時，Hetzer誕生在怪物林立的年代，蘇聯的JS-2早已橫行天下。Hetzer必須迫近JS-2 100m內才能貫穿其正面裝甲，幸好，Hetzer的攻防力尚且小勝T-34/85。肩負側翼突破戰術，戰時產量超過2500輛。
History suggested that the design concept of Soviet T-34 series aim at perfect balance among attack, defense and mobility. Then, the Germans urged for fire and amour. This idea put Germans in deep troubles after 1941. To take a look inside, we can find natural born factors from the German industry power, e.g. the weight power ratio of petrol engine and the Germany productivity. Under the attack of 3 world super powers, German tanks suffer a numerous lost. To cope with such damage, German introduced jagdpanzer (tank destroyer) as a substitute. They modified excess chassis or damaged tanks with more powerful canon by taking away turrets. Instead,
a fix welded fighting compartment was used. The declining war forced Heinz Guderian to agree with jagdpanzer as a temporary strategy. The role of German tanks changed from Knight of engine to Panzer spear head, eventually played as anti-tank weapon in front of Red army snowball effect.
When the war victory have left German further and further behind, jagdpanzer existed as a formal equation in order to reduce production process at the same time fulfilled Deschutes traditions. Jagdpanther with 88mm PAK43/3 is a well-known answer to the soviet monster.
Hetzer was one of the results based on strategy plan mentioned above. Hetzer was developed on the Czech 38(t)'s widened chassis. Somehow, it gave luxuriant chance for German outdated chassis production line, at the same time it sacrificed part of the strategy flexibilities that normal tanks provide. Undoubtedly, Mini Hetzer provided a low profile, because German have learnt the T-34 lesson, well-sloped hull of welded construction became trademark of German tanks too. Hetzer did pretty well as a jagdpanzer, but it was not born in the right time, JS-2 of Soviet has already flooded in Europe. Hetzer could penetrate JS-2 frontal amour at a distance of 100m. Fortunately, Hetzer was still better than T-34/85, picked up the role of wing assault. More than 2500 Hetzer was built through out ww2.
上文所說的兄弟就是德軍「動物兵團」之一，五號戰車豹式。閃電戰開打以來面對T-34與KV系列，德軍主力的三號與四號戰車吃足苦頭，他們的主炮無法貫穿KV，得靠88mm高射炮補上致命的一擊。德軍震驚之餘，加速全新中戰車的開發，豹於焉誕生。豹的原始設計根本抄襲自蘇聯T-34，多家公司分別就30噸級戰車開發VK3002計劃提案，Daimler-Benz的 VK3002(DB)初期圖紙設計階段顯示砲塔就如T-34一樣是前置的，為了避免友軍誤射而且VK3002(DB)性能較遜，該項設計被希特勒駁回，希特勒決定採用一貫MAN(Maschinenfabrik Augsburg Nuernberg)德國風格砲塔中置的VK3002(MAN)。1943年一月豹開始量產。
豹首戰於東線庫斯克會戰，因軸承傳動不勝實戰的操作負荷，大敗而回，及後針對改善，從此深受乘員喜愛。豹的戰鬥力不比虎式差，75mm KwK 42 L/70主砲的貫穿力稍微勝過虎的88mm KwK 36 L/56砲，生產成本也較低，因而逐漸取代虎式作大規模量產，統計顯示聯軍裝甲部隊損失5輛美軍Sherman或9架T-34才擊毀一台豹式。
