

| In early 1999, Citybus in Hong Kong has ordered 40 MAN NL262R single deckers, 32 MAN 24.310 with Berkhof body and another 30 MAN 24.310 but with Australian Volgren body. But due to the Transport Department in Hong Kong have a limit for number of buses in a franchise bus fleet, the orders above has been canceled, for the buses, 20 of the NL262R has been build, and later received by Citybus by sending some of its midi Dennis Dart SLF and Volvo B6LE back to the UK. For the batch of Berkhof bodied 24.310, all of the buses has been build. The firstone of them has send back to Germany MAN's headquarter for further examination, one sold to Kwoong Chung Motors, a private operators who owns a franchise bus company, New Lantao bus on the Lantao Island, and the rest of 30 were sold to Kowloon Motor Bus in 2000. On the southern atmosphere, 2 chassis already been build and bodied by Volgren after the order was canceled, they were parked at the parking lot of Volgren's Dandenong factory in Citybus colour since they came out from the body assemble line. In 1999, the second one been build was appeared at the 1999 Sydney Bus & Coach Show which held in Warwick Farm Race Courses in the Western Sydney on every September. There was a rumour that State Transit - Sydney Buses are going to buy this pair of buses to replace some of its articulated Mercedes Benz O.305G, but the spokenperson of Volgren saids, the buses are designed for Hong Kong and they will destin there for the services over there. In October 2000, the pair of buses was arrived in Hong Kong and received by Regal Motors Ltd., the dealer of MAN in Hong Kong. In 2001, they has been examined by the KMB;s administration staff, the operator who bought the Berkhof bodied examples, and there was a rumour that KMB has bought this pair of buses. But after the KMB staff examine thebuses, 15 24.310 with Volgren CR222LD are ordered for the delivery in winter 2001. The reason of KMB choosing Volgren bodywork rather than Alexander of the Transbus group, because of the low Australian dollars and the quality aluminium bodywork from Volgren are similar to the other British products. |
| 在1999年年初,城巴訂購了為數一百部的德國猛獅巴士,包括40部NL262R低地台巴士,62部24.310 低地台雙層巴士,當中包括32部裝有荷蘭Berkhof車身及30部裝有澳洲Volgren的CR223LD車身。但由於 運輸署對專利巴士車隊的巴士數目是有限制的,以上所有巴士的訂單都被取消。至於這批巴士,當中有 20部的NL262已經裝嵌完成,後來這20部巴士都是在城巴在2000年把旗下部份丹尼士飛標SLF及富豪 B6LE中型巴士運返英國後才接收(車隊編號1561-1580)。32部的Berkhof車身的24.310,當訂單取消時所 有巴士均完成了車身裝嵌工程,當中的第一部已被猛獅接收,並駛返德國慕尼克的車廠作徹底測試。另 外,一部的24.310被香港的冠忠巴士購入,該輛巴士仍保留有城巴的車廂規格,其餘的30部則被九龍 巴士在2000年購入,成為該車隊內第三款德國雙層巴士。 在南半球的澳洲,在訂單取消時已經有兩部的底盤完成裝嵌,並裝上了由Volgren提供的CR223LD型 車身。這兩部巴士自完成車身裝嵌工程後都被停泊在Volgren Dandenong廠房的停車場內。在1999 年,每年九月都在位於雪梨西部的Warwick Farm馬場內舉行的雪梨巴士及客車展覽會,Volgren車身廠 展出了第二部完成了裝嵌工程的24.310巴士,並油上了城巴的標準車身色彩。在展覽期間,有傳聞這兩 部巴士都被雪梨公營巴士(Sydney Buses)購入,用作取代旗下車齡日高的平冶O.305G掛接巴士。但據 Volgren的發言人說,這兩部巴士都是為香港的市場而設計,並會運往香港服務。 在2000年的10月份,這兩部巴士運抵香港,由猛獅在香港的代理-合德汽車有限公司接收。其後,巴 士在2001年的首季更多次在九巴的多個車廠內出現,並且有九巴的高層人員上車參觀。後來更有傳聞指 九巴已經把這兩部巴士收歸旗下。在這兩部巴士最近的一次出現九巴的車廠內之後,九巴宣報已經訂 購了15部裝有Volgren CR222LD車身的24.310,並會在2001年年底開始附運香港。九巴今次選用了澳洲 的Volgren車身而不選擇Transbus集團旗下的亞歷山大的原因,是因為澳元匾值的關係,及其高質數的鋁 合金車身跟英國的產品沒有差異。 |
