Matrices 47, Amazes 36 Matrices, accurate Kenneth downed Amazes Kenneth really took advantage of Amazes' poor transition defense. Kenneth scored a season high 16 points, of which 9 points came from fastbreaks, on an astonishing 7 of 9 shooting to lead the Matrices to a victory over the Amazes, 47:36. The Matrices had 16 fastbreak points in this game "Early in the game I got a couple of easy layups that kinda got my rhythm going. After that, I just couldn't miss," said Kenneth, who scored 14 points in the first half. "I should thank my teammates for getting me the ball on fastbreaks." The Matrices also got a team record high 15 assists. Justin and Gabriel each had 5 assists apiece and Senne dished out a career high 3 assists. Justin had a solid game with 8 points (2/3 FG, 4/4 FT), 5 assists and 4 steals. "It's just so easy to make free throws," said Justin, who has a 87.5% free throw percentage this season, " It's almost like automatic for me. I didn't know how could Gabriel and Kenneth struggle so much on free throw?" The Amazes did not have enough players to begin the game on time. A technical foul was called and Justin calmly sunk two free throws to begin the game. The first quarter was all Kenneth Siu as he scored 8 consecutive points. He began with a three point play assisted by Justin, a three pointer, and another transition basket. Kenneth continued his fine play in the second quarter, scoring 6 more points on two fastbreaks and a mid-range jumper. The Matrices led 24:11 at the break. Wallance of the Amazes went crazy in the third quarter. He scored 10 of the Amazes' 12 points in the quarter. He finished with 23 points for the game. Despite constant double team effort on him, the Matrices still couldn't contain him. "His form is somewhat strange to me, " said Gabriel. "But what the heck? he made all those tough jumpers." Gabriel struggled mightily in this game, hitting only 5 of 16 attempts (1 of 7 in the first half). Most of his misses were many easy layups underneath the basket. Despite the shooting slump, he had an all round game with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. "I guess I was pushing my shots too quickly. My hands seemed to be very stiff and I couldn't get a soft roll. I couldn't believe I missed that many layups so close to the basket. I guess it's just one of those off days, " said Gabriel. He also continued to have trouble hitting free throws, making only 1 of 5 free throw attempts. "Why is that everytime I step on the line, I will make the free throw? Can someone tell me why?" Gabriel questioned. Another player who struggled in this game was Anson, who missed all his attempts after making all his three point attempts last game. "I actually was shooting crazily well before the game, " explained Anson. " You can ask my teammates. I couldn't miss in the pre-game shoot-around. I guess I used up all my credits." "We did a pretty good job on transition offense, " said Tung, who did not score in this game." Kenneth got a hot streak going and our guys were passing the ball on fastbreaks. However, our half court offense was still very dull. I didn't see much ball movement. Nobody cut in the middle. We didn't pass the ball inside to Wong Ching Hei. It was just Gabriel playing 1-on-3 all the time. If we keep playing this kind of basketball, we will get wiped out by City next game." "We really have to play more full-court in practice," suggested Gabriel. " We have to buff up our half-court offense and defense rotation so that we can get ready to face City next game."
